Gashadokuro (がしゃどくろ, Gashadokuro) is a large skeleton yōkai who had been sealed beneath the fourth Keikain seal at Nishihōgan-ji.
Appearance[]
Gashadokuro is a giant skeleton with unconnected eyeballs which roll around in their sockets. He is so large that others are able to ride on his back. Possibly due to his lack of musculature, he is never seen walking upright and instead maneuvers along the ground like a worm.
Personality[]
Loyal to Hagoromo Gitsune, he is one of her most loyal servants. He is also slightly slow witted, as he barges into her performance despite her telling him not to.
History[]
A thousand years ago, he was among the yōkai who followed behind Abe no Seimei's carriage.
Synopsis[]
Kyōto Arc[]
After being released from beneath the Nishihōgan-ji seal, he rejoins Hagoromo Gitsune's forces and is frequently used as her means of transportation. When Akifusa, Masatsugu and Pato trap Hagoromo Gitsune inside a barrier at Rokukin-ji, Gashadokuro manages to break through it in order to reach her, bringing the rest of her forces with him.
Once Hagoromo Gitsune settles into the Nuega-Ike to await the Nue's birth, Gashadokuro is among those who act as her guards. After Nurarihyon infiltrates the area, and is heavily wounded by Kyōkotsu and Kidōmaru, Gashadokuro also attempts to stop him but instead ends up being used as an escape route when Karasu Tengu flies through his open ribcage. After the Nue's birth and Hagoromo Gitsune's subsequent death, Gashadokuro is one of the few Kyoto Yōkai who does not follow Abe no Seimei back to hell, opting instead to remain with Kyōkotsu to await Hagoromo Gitsune's return.
