Hanako (花子, Hanako) was Yoshidano Shosho Korefusa's wife and Umewakamaru's mother. In the anime, she was shown to have been incapable of conceiving a child for a long time before the birth of her son. After her husband's death, she left Umewakamaru at the temple on Mt. Hiei and went traveling, ultimately ending up being killed and eaten by the original Gyūki. She is only given a name in the anime, and is voiced by Kikuko Inoue.
